Frant Shortmat Bowls

Frant Short Mat Bowls Club meets on most Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Memorial Hall during the winter months.  The season starts in mid- September and ends in late March.  The club plays other local clubs in the Wealden League and is in the higher of the two divisions.  Wealden league matches consist of two triples games followed by two doubles games.  Frant’s home matches are played on Thursday evenings and away matches are played at times chosen by the home team so can be any day of the week.  The full programme and match results can be seen on the club’s website.
 
The club currently has around twenty members and prospective new members are welcome.  Help and advice is available for those new to the game and all you need to give it a try is a pair of flattish-soled shoes – anything without a hard edge to the heel will do.  There are two mats on each of which a game is played between two teams of 2, 3 or 4 players on practice nights.
